FOR PEER SUPPORT & REFERRAL PARTNERS
A clear, confidential referral pathway — and everything you need to walk alongside someone with confidence.
Available 24/7 · Confidential · No agency contact
If you're a peer support officer, union representative, chaplain, EAP coordinator, department behavioral health officer, or command staff — you've already done the hardest part. You noticed. You said something. You had the conversation that most people avoid.
After Action is built to be the next step in that conversation. Our intake team works directly with referral partners to make the transition as smooth as possible — and to handle the logistics that can stop someone from following through.
First responders who are most likely to benefit from a referral include those experiencing:
You don't have to have a diagnosis to make the call. If you're worried, that's enough.
The #1 barrier to first responders accepting a referral is fear — of losing their badge, their rank, their security clearance, or the respect of their peers. These fears are legitimate. Here's what you can tell them with confidence:
You can also have them call without giving their name. A first conversation is anonymous until they choose otherwise.
All calls, records, and treatment details are completely private. We never contact the individual's agency, department, chain of command, or employer — ever — unless directed to in writing.
Distance shouldn't stop anyone from getting help. If travel costs are a barrier, we'll work with the individual to cover or reduce the cost of getting to and from treatment.
Our dedicated caseworkers manage all FMLA filings, short-term disability documentation, and any employer paperwork — so the person you referred can focus entirely on healing, not logistics.
You can refer directly, or encourage the individual to call on their own. Either way, here's what happens:
You can also call us first to talk through the situation before involving the individual. We'll help you think through how to approach it.
A focused 14-day residential program for acute burnout, critical incident stress, and emotional dysregulation. Appropriate when someone needs to step away, reset, and return to duty with new tools.
A comprehensive 30-day residential program for deeper trauma, substance use, and long-term pattern change. Appropriate when the issue is more embedded and a longer runway is needed.
If someone shared this page with you, it's because they care — and because what they're seeing concerns them. That's the kind of person in your corner.
You don't have to decide anything today. One call — anonymous if you prefer — is all it takes to understand your options. We work exclusively with first responders. Everyone in the room has worn a uniform. The only thing we ask is that you give yourself 15 minutes.
We accept most major commercial insurance plans — including Cigna, Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, Health Net, Beacon, Magellan, HMC HealthWorks, The Holman Group, ComPsych, and VA Community Care.
We do not currently accept Medi-Cal, Medicaid, or Medicare.
